This place is pretty great! It’s definitely old school! Food is good! Good selection of drinks! And the staff is friendly! Only small complaint is large table is kinda cramped with walk way, but it is a pretty small place. This is another hidden gem of Chesapeake! We will definitely go back.
I will preface this with saying, I grew up coming to Courthouse. It was a staple in my childhood. We came here this evening, 9/16/25, for my birthday! The hostess greeted us with a smile. Every employee seemed happy to be there. They were active in the restaurant. Always looking for something to do. Pre-bussing, refilling drinks, things like that. Our server, Sarah (I think), greeted us promptly, highlighted the shrimp and steak special and got our drinks very quickly. Her service throughout the entire meal was awesome. Our drinks were never empty and everything was rang in at a good pace. For the food— we started with the she crab soup… holy mother of pearl. Just as I remembered it, if not, better. My husband had the cheeseburger with fries and ranch. Said it was the best burger and ranch he has ever had. I got the special. And that was an insane amount of food for the price. I swear I took home more than half of it. The flavors were incredible and the food was plated beautifully. The renovations after the fire are amazing too! It looks so polished and up to date now. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back. This might be my birthday request every year ❤️❤️
Mark Hill and his staff are always friendly, courteous and accommodating. For starters we ordered the fried mushrooms and chicken tenders...very tasty! We ordered a cheeseburger meal, 2 friend shrimp specials and a sirloin meal. All were hot fresh and delicious.
The newly remodeled Court House is looking fantastic. Shannon made me a refreshing Tito's and Lemonade and I had the Chicken Salad Club sandwich which was the best I've ever had. The Broccoli salad was a surprise delight that came with the sandwich. Chatted with Mark, one of the owners who is always very personable. Highly recommend to eat here.
Delicious. This is our new favorite restaurant in the Suffolk area—-we loved everything about our meal. Highly recommend the Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve bourbon and queen cut prime rib. Our party had a variety of sides, everything was exceptional.
We had dinner recently at The Court House Cafe in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. This is a wonderful restaurant and a hometown favorite. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you’re on the fence about what to order. I recommend that you come early, especially for dinner because they tend to fill up quickly. I really enjoyed the cheeseburger served with steak fries. Mine was cooked perfectly and seasoned properly. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant if you enjoy good food for reasonable prices.

Excellent food. Liver and onions was like mom made for me in the 70s. She crab soup is outstanding. Popular place so get there early or after 7:00 otherwise it's a wait. Parties of 4 or less can get seated faster. We were 5 and had a long wait. The great food was worth it. Highly recommended.
Im a traveler so I try and choose highly rated restaurants to not waste my time on a bad meal. I had the Barely Legal burger and it was fantastic. I wouldn’t recommend the side salad upgrade as it’s kind of wimpy. 1 tomato and cucumber on preprepared salad on cold plate but the burger was one of better I’ve had. Value is very good!
First time visiting and the staff (Ms. Jonna) was great and pleasant. Took our order without writing it down and everything was correct and food was hot and tasted great! Will definitely return to try other food options.
